The 15 Best Things to Eat at LEGOLand California

LEGOLAND California doesn’t get enough credit for its food. Most people assume theme park food means overpriced and underwhelming, but after more visits to LEGOLAND than I can count (proud annual pass holder!), I can tell you it’s actually really good. Some of it I prefer to Disneyland. The churros at LEGOLAND are thicker and better and the Mexican food options here put Disneyland to shame. Here’s everything worth eating at LEGOLAND California!

First, HERE are all current LEGOLAND deals. Make sure to check here before buying your tickets.

Market Tacos at LEGOLAND Water Park

A small, less-known spot but my favorite restaurant in LEGOLAND! I’ve walked all the way in here on a day we aren’t going to the water park just to grab one of their mocktails and fish tacos. The fish tacos are fresh and flavorful, not at all what you’d expect from theme park food. The mocktails are a fun bonus for the kids, too. It’s tucked away enough that most people walk right past it, which means shorter lines for you!

Knight’s Smokehouse BBQ

This is my favorite spot to eat within the LEGOLAND Park (not including the water park). The smell alone will stop you in your tracks.

I love all the different sauce options. It is a little pricier as they have huge portions, so you might want to split your entrees! Seriously, one plate can easily feed two kids or be split between adults. It’s one of those spots that actually feels worth the splurge.

Chocolate Dipped Churros

These are not your lame Disney churros. These are thick and come with a chocolate dipping sauce. The outside has a little crunch and the inside stays soft. The chocolate hardens slightly as it cools, making every bite so good.

They serve them by Miniland and the submarine ride. They aren’t always open, so grab them if you see them open!

Granny’s Apple Fries

Granny’s Apple Fries are back by the playground on Castle Hill.

They are deep-fried green apple strips with an amazing heavy cream vanilla dipping sauce.

They have seasonal variations but I like the classic option because they need nothing added. I usually get these and snack on them as my kids play in the nearby playground.

One note on the specialty versions: I generally don’t like the apple fries with ice cream because the ice cream makes them soggy. Stick with the classic! If you really want ice cream, ask for it on the side.

Seasonal Items

LEGOLAND does seasonal food really well. At Halloween they have dirt cups, which are a fan favorite and absolutely worth tracking down. Keep an eye out for whatever is on the seasonal menu when you visit because they tend to be fun and worth trying.

Cosmo Queso Tacos (Birra Tacos) at United Food Outpost

This is their brand new restaurant in LEGO Galaxy. You order at a kiosk and can grab food from any culture!

So the kids can get their boring burgers and chicken nuggets while you eat birria tacos and pad thai. This is honestly a genius concept for families with picky eaters. Everyone walks away happy, and you don’t have to sacrifice eating something good just because you’re at a theme park.

Supernova Nachos at United Food Outpost

Also at the United Food Outpost in LEGO Galaxy, the Supernova Nachos are a must. They are loaded and the perfect thing to share while you’re exploring the area.

Italian Buffet by Technicoaster

We found this place by accident on a rainy day and it’s great for days your kids are starving. They have unlimited pizza and pasta and the entry price isn’t too bad. I love the bolognese with the pulled pork. Don’t forget to use your annual pass for a discount!

On a rainy or crowded day when you just need everyone fed quickly, this buffet is a lifesaver. The kids can load up on pasta and pizza while you go back for seconds on the good stuff.

Everything is Ramen in LEGO Movie World

We are a house divided for this one. I love this place but my husband thinks it isn’t enough food. If you’re a ramen person this is definitely worth a stop! The broth is surprisingly flavorful for a theme park restaurant, and the vibe inside fits perfectly with the LEGO Movie World area. Just go in knowing the portions are on the smaller side.

Bomb Pops by the Pirate Ride

On a hot San Diego day, these are perfect. They’re right by the pirate ride, so they’re easy to grab while you cool down between rides. Simple, classic, and exactly what you need when you’re melting in the heat.

Castle Hotel Restaurant

This restaurant is actually outside LEGOLAND in the Castle Hotel. They have typical Medieval food like hunks of meat and roast potatoes. The food is tasty, though this is a pricier option. One big appeal is that there are areas for kids to play with LEGO bricks inside the restaurant. Why doesn’t EVERY restaurant have this?

This restaurant stays open later, so if you find yourself at LEGOLAND on a night it closes at 6 pm with hungry kids, this spot comes in clutch. You do not have to be staying in the hotel to eat here.

LEGOLAND Hotel Restaurant

This is actually a buffet and it’s excellent. It changes every night, but there are Asian, Mexican, and many healthy options. Kids have their own buffet full of kid-friendly food.

This is a good way to ensure everyone goes home with a full belly, especially if you have picky eaters (it’s me, I have picky eaters).

Like the Castle Hotel Restaurant, this place stays open later and you don’t need to be staying at the hotel to eat here. It’s one of those hidden gems that most LEGOLAND visitors don’t even know about.

Chilaquiles at the Complimentary LEGOLAND Breakfast

If you’re staying at the LEGOLAND Hotel, breakfast is complimentary with your stay and the chilaquiles are a standout. It’s a great way to fuel up before a full day at the park, and honestly one of the better reasons to book the hotel. Don’t skip breakfast!

LEGO Chocolate Bricks – Market at LEGOLAND Entrance

These are sold at the Market near the entrance and they’re exactly what they sound like: chocolate molded into LEGO brick shapes. They’re as fun to look at as they are to eat and make for a great souvenir snack. A perfect grab on your way in or out.

Rice Krispie Treat – Market at LEGOLAND Entrance

This is a great spot to stop for snacks and treats! They have a few food items like breakfast pastries and sandwiches. It’s mostly to-go food. I love grabbing one of these on the way out as a little reward after a long day. It’s the perfect size and hits the spot when everyone is tired and hungry from a full day at the park.
