10 Best Halloween Houses in San Diego 2026

San Diego County goes ALL OUT for the Halloween season! I posted a question in my stories asking for the best Halloween houses and you delivered. Here is a map of all the submissions. Please note, some are houses, some are streets, some are neighborhoods. Just explore near where the pin is and you will find it!

If you spot a spooky house that needs to be on the list, please send me a DM on Instagram and I will add it to the map. Similarly, if you visit a house / street on the map and it is NOT done up for Halloween, let me know that too so I can remove it!

I listed pumpkin patches with orange markers. Here’s my pumpkin patch list with admission info and whatnot.

Best Halloween Decorations in San Diego for 2026 | San Diego Mamas

Bressi Ranch in Carlsbad

The skeleton neighborhood! The best part about this neighborhood is this is totally doable during the day with little kids. Start on Peppertree Way, where a whole row of homes is decked out like Pirates of the Caribbean with the movie soundtrack playing, then wander the surrounding streets for more themed houses like a skeleton western saloon and a ghostly prom. It’s a super popular trick-or-treat spot, so get there early for parking and please be respectful of the decorations.

Address: Peppertree Way, Carlsbad, CA 92009

Harmony Grove Village in Escondido

We love their light tunnels and all their spooky decor. Some houses are a little creepy FYI. This newer neighborhood has become one of North County’s go-to Halloween spots, with homeowners going all out year after year. Start on Harmony Grove Village Parkway and explore the side streets on foot to see it all.

Address: Harmony Grove Village Pkwy, Escondido, CA 92029

Starlight Circle in Santee

This whole street goes all out! Return during Christmas for more festive fun. The decorations wrap around both East and West Glendon Circle, just off Magnolia Avenue. It’s best enjoyed on foot with a stroller or wagon, and residents ask that you park outside the neighborhood and walk in.

Address: East and West Glendon Cir, Santee, CA 92071

Oceanside Spider House

We are always so impressed with this house every year. Think giant monsters, singing pumpkins, and plenty of creepy crawlies you won’t see anywhere else. Tune your car radio to 95.1 FM to hear the music synced to their light show! It’s the only house on the street that decorates, but it’s worth the trip on its own, and there’s plenty of street parking for an easy stroll with little ones. Follow along at @oceansidespiderhouse.

Address: 5592 Thoroughbred St, Oceanside, CA 92057

Del Sur Pirate House in Rancho Bernardo

This one is a must visit. They build an entire pirate ship! Around the corner there’s a Harry Potter House and a Hocus Pocus House as well! A few streets away, between Fair Hill and Via Montenero, there is an Area 51 House (@delsurarea51) with a full UFO crash site. By that house, there is a creepy clown house. Follow along at @delsurpiratehouse.

Address: 8293 Katherine Claire Ct, San Diego, CA 92127

Porch Swing Street in Chula Vista

We haven’t gotten to visit this one yet, but I hear it’s amazing! This Otay Ranch street is known for neighbors who go big for the holidays together. It’s the last street in the development, so it has a quiet cul-de-sac feel that makes it an easy walk with kids.
Address: Porch Swing St, Chula Vista, CA 91915

Christmas Card Lane in Rancho Penasquitos

Head to Oviedo Street for the most festive area for Christmas and for Halloween. I think you probably have to sign a contract or something that you’re fun and will decorate well before moving here. The decorations spread across Oviedo, Ellingham, and Renato Streets off Black Mountain Road. Park at Sunset Hills Elementary across the street and walk in, since driving through can be slow.

Address: Oviedo St, San Diego, CA 92129

10958 San Blas Cir

Fun area that goes all out every year!
Address: 10958 San Blas Cir, San Diego, CA 92126

Benevente Light Show in Oceanside

A full Halloween light show set to music, and this year they went big! They quadrupled the display from 20,000 to 80,000 pixels, added a huge new pixel panel, and synced nearly 30 songs to the lights. This year’s theme is pirates, with 12ft, 8ft, and 5ft pirates and a pirate ship in the yard. It’s drive-by friendly: tune your car radio to 89.9 FM, then push the speaker button to choose which songs you want to see! The show runs every night in October from 6 to 9pm, right through Halloween night, and they’re back with a Christmas show December 1st through New Year’s. More info at beneventelightshow.com, and follow along at @beneventelightshow.

Address: 429 Benevente Dr, Oceanside, CA 92057

Disney Villains Halloween Display in Sabre Springs

From the same family behind last year’s A ToonTown Christmas! This yard is themed to Disney Villains, with Tim Burton characters, Snoopy, Looney Tunes, and some friendlier faces mixed in too. There are 43 handmade characters, 21 inflatables, 9 different areas, and 20,000 lights. The centerpiece is almost 15 feet tall to the tip of his wings! This will most likely be their last Halloween display, so don’t miss it. It’s lit up nightly from 6:30 to 10pm.

Address: 11972 Aspen View Ct, San Diego, CA 92128

South Park Horror House

A home haunt with a fog-filled interactive walkthrough and animatronics around almost every corner. It’s open every Friday and Saturday in October from 7 to 9pm. Keep an eye on their Instagram for spirit box hunts around the neighborhood, with clues posted until someone finds the box. Follow along at @southparkhorrorhouse.

Address: 2962 Laurel St, San Diego, CA 92104

Shady Acres Cemetery in Clairemont

This yard is inspired by Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion and has been going for about a decade! On Halloween night there are two free walk-throughs: Shady Acres Cemetery from 6:30 to 10:30pm, and the scarier Mesa View Psychiatric Hospital from 7 to 10:30pm for older kids and brave grown-ups. Follow along at @shadyacrescemetery.

Address: 4523 Limerick Way, San Diego, CA 92117

The Escondido Madhouse

27 years of haunting Escondido! What started in 1999 as a little haunted house for owner Kelly’s son’s birthday party has grown into a full haunted attraction run by her family and volunteers. They transform a huge part of their home every year, and it’s a true haunted house with live scare actors, so it’s best for older kids and teens. Open October 24th and Halloween night from dusk to 11pm.

Address: 10275 Spruce Woodland Way, Escondido, CA 92026

Know before you go: Admission is FREE, but donations are appreciated (Venmo, Cash App or cash). They also offer a paid Fast Pass to skip the line, and lines can get long, so plan ahead! There are no public bathrooms, so go before you arrive. Parking is in the neighborhood, so consider parking near the golf course and walking over.

Ammonite Light Show in Carlsbad

A whole street of decorated homes with a nightly light show you can listen to from your car! Tune your radio to 104.1 FM for the music synced to the lights. The show runs every night from sunset to 9pm, and Bressi Ranch is just a short drive away if you want to make a night of it.

Address: Ammonite Pl, Carlsbad, CA 92009

Poway’s Oldest Cemetery in Poway

A front yard graveyard that’s fun to see even during the day! A giant pumpkin-headed skeleton towers over a whole wall of jack-o’-lanterns, tombstones with funny names like “Candy Stealer,” a stacked pumpkin tower, and spiders crawling all over the house. Look for the giant spider and pirate skeletons around the yard too.

Address: Start at the 7-Eleven at 14225 Poway Rd, Poway, CA 92064. Head up Garden Rd and take the first left past the 7-Eleven.

Gabel’s Graveyard in Vista

A graveyard-themed yard with over 20 creepy animatronics, plus sound effects and fog that make it feel like you’re walking into a horror movie! Head through the rose-covered arch past the fire bowls and into the graveyard. It’s open nightly from 6:15 to 9pm starting October 16. Follow along at @gabelsgraveyard.

Address: 1896 Ithaca Dr, Vista, CA 92081

Huron Court Halloween House in Oceanside

A mom and son operation that has been decorating in inland Oceanside for over 30 years! Halloween is extra special at this house because it’s also his birthday, so as a self-proclaimed Minister of the Macabre, he takes celebrating All Hallow’s Eve very seriously. This is the kind of house that’s been a neighborhood tradition for decades, so add it to your Oceanside route.

Address: 5341 Huron Ct, Oceanside, CA
