Seal Pupping Season

The seals begin to come to San Diego to have their pups around February 8th! Of course this varies every year, but usually you can catch them at The Children’s Pool in La Jolla. When we’ve gone there have been docents answering questions and making sure the seals and the people who want to see them stay safe and where they belong.

Museum Month

Get in for half price at 60 museums across San Diego! The full list is here. You can pick up your passes in late January at both City and County libraries or you can download a digital pass starting February 1st. My top picks would have to be: Birch Aquarium, The Brain Observatory (new this year!), LEGOLAND, The Living Coast Discovery Center, The Maritime Museum, The New Children’s Museum, The San Diego Air and Space Museum, The USS Midway, The Natural History Museum, and The San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum.

Beyond Van Gogh and Beyond Monet at The Del Mar Fairgrounds

Beyond Van Gogh is coming to The Del Mar Fairgrounds from January 26th through April 1st. If you haven’t seen this event, it’s an immersive art experience where you can walk through the works of Van Gogh. Would be super great for exposing kids to art in a fun way. Tickets are $53 for all nights. Use code MARKET for 15% off. Stay tuned on my IG as I will be doing an in depth review of both exhibits AND running a giveway.

Bluey’s Big Play at The Balboa Theater

Got a Bluey fan in your life? You need to take them to this show! By the way this is the only show I actually enjoy watching with my kids besides Disney / Pixar movies. The Broadway show gets rave reviews. The characters are actually puppets voiced by real actors. I will be running a giveaway for this show as well. They have told me they will not be offering any discount codes for this one.

Rhea Lana Sale in Poway

This is where we get a lot of our kid’s clothes! Twice a year they put on a massive consignment sale full of tons of really nice kid stuff. You can get pretty much anything you need here for your kids. It runs from Feb 1st through Feb 8th. The first weekend is ticketed and then after that it’s open shopping. Anything left after that point will be donated to various charities around San Diego.

Whale Watching with City Cruises

Apparently the whales are going NUTS this year! You will be able to hopefully see a ton on a cruise. I am working with City Cruises to bring you a residents discount, stay tuned.

Ninjago Weekends at LEGOLAND

Every weekend they have Ninjago weekends at LEGOLAND! You can meet ninjas and take ninja training courses. They have various shows and elements for fans of the Ninjago LEGO series. We went last year and it was super cute. Don’t forget to play on the ninja training course! Also you can get in half price for Museum Month. They are also running a kids ticket for $25 deal through March. You can bring in three kids for $25 each with the purchase of one adult ticket.

Lunar New Year at Disneyland California Adventure

This festival and celebration of culture runs through February 18th. They have a special parade with Mulan, you can meet characters from Turning Red, and sample tons of authentic Chinese food. Included with admission to California Adventure, so Magic Key Holders should get up there and check it out!

Allow me to introduce myself…

My name is Camille! I am a San Diego stay-at-home mom who is never ever at home. I share a lot of fun things to do around San Diego including parks, restaurants, LEGOLAND, the zoo etc.

My goal with my Instagram account and blog is to make any mom feel prepared for any outing with her kids so that she doesn’t have to stay home unless she wants to. Getting out with my kids was key for me in overcoming postpartum depression so I try to pay it forward by sharing what we do to help other moms in a similar situation. Read more about my story here.

Thanks so much for reading!

If you find any of this information to be incorrect or need updating, please send me an email to sandiegomamas@gmail.com or a DM on Instagram to @sandiego.mamas . There is a reason I chose to call this San Diego MamaS (plural) not San Diego Mama. It takes our whole mom community (which now includes you!) to make sure I can share the most accurate information for your family.

Sharing this post helps the mom behind you and helps my page grow! Please feel free to share this link with any other mom who might need it.

Oh I also send out a monthly email with my top picks for events (with discount codes!) coming to town for the month as well as some outdoor activity activity suggestions.

Planning all the fun for your family is a hard job, let me help you! You can find info on signing up for that below.
